A diary sold on candour owes its readers a straight answer about how it gets written. This is that answer, in plain language, and it will be kept current.
The entries are written by a human being. Every sentence of every entry, free and locked, is composed by the author. That is the product and there is no version of this where it is not.
It is used, and here is exactly where:
It is not used to write the entries. It does not generate scenes, dialogue, description, or the voice. A tool that suggests where a paragraph should move is doing something different from a tool that writes the paragraph, and only the first one is in use here.
Narration of the locked entries is recorded by the author in her own voice. It is not synthesised. The voice is a substantial part of what the subscription buys, and handing it to a machine would rather defeat the purpose.
Substack now offers readers an automated estimate of how much of a post was written with artificial intelligence. Those tools are imperfect in both directions and return false results on human writing with some regularity. Scanning is left switched on here regardless. Readers are welcome to run it, and this page will account for whatever it says.
Every person, name, conversation, place, and event in this diary is invented.
No entry depicts a real identifiable individual. Characters are composites and inventions. Any resemblance to a real person is coincidental and unintended. Nothing here should be read as an account of anybody's private life.
The diary is written for adult readers. The free entries are suggestive rather than graphic. The locked entries are more candid, which is largely why they are locked. It is text and audio only.
Subscriptions are handled by Substack and appear on statements as DLD Publishing LLC. Subscriber email addresses are used to deliver the diary and for nothing else. They are never sold, rented, or shared. Subscriptions can be cancelled from your own account at any time without contacting anyone.
